The Bridge Between Dreamers and Doers
My story doesn’t start in a boardroom. It started at a crowded coffee shop, hunched over a laptop, trying to code a simple website for my first client. I was a freelancer. I knew the thrill of landing a project and the paralyzing fear of a late payment. I felt the loneliness of working solo and the frustration of platforms that treated talent like a commodity.
That experience wasn’t just a phase; it was my foundation. It’s the reason I wake up every morning driven to build Unilancerz. My vision is simple yet audacious: to create a world where geography is no barrier to opportunity, where every freelancer has the tools and community to build a thriving business on their own terms.
The path here was far from straight. In the early days, the biggest struggle was belief—not just others believing in me, but me believing in myself. I maxed out credit cards, faced rejection from countless investors who didn’t see the potential of the freelance economy, and spent more than one sleepless night wondering if I was on a fool’s errand. I learned that resilience isn’t about avoiding failure; it’s about learning to get back up faster and smarter each time.
Our first major achievement wasn’t a revenue milestone. It was a single email from a freelancer in Kenya who told us that because of Unilancerz, he could now support his family working with international clients. That moment cemented our purpose. Since then, every achievement—from building our core team to expanding to over 50 countries—has been a testament to that same principle: empowering people transforms economies.
My leadership style is built on that same principle of empowerment. I believe in radical transparency and leading from the front. I’m not a CEO who is separated from the product or our community. You’ll find me in Slack channels, talking to users, and brainstorming with the dev team. I hire people who are smarter than me, give them a clear vision, and get out of their way. I foster a culture of ownership because I know that passionate people, when trusted, create magic.
The future of work is flexible, global, and human-centric. I started Unilancerz not just to build a company, but to build a bridge—a bridge that connects incredible talent with world-changing ideas. This is more than a business; it’s a commitment to building a more equitable and connected global workforce.
