House Shifting Tips from one city to another
✅ Step 1: Make Categories
Break your stuff into categories so it’s easier to pack and move:
- Furniture: sofa, beds, tables, dressing, desk, charpai
- Electronics: fridge, LED, oven, cooler, laptops, mobile phones
- Kitchen Items: cooking stuff, cutlery, cylinder
- Clothes & Personal: clothes, shoes, books
- Transportable Items: bike
✅ Step 2: Arrange Transport
Depending on budget and how much you want to do yourself:
- Option A: Full-Service Movers (e.g., Pakistan Movers, Allied Movers, or Moveit.pk)
- They’ll pack, load, and unload.
- Slightly expensive but stress-free.
- Ask for a quote with a list of your items.
- Option B: Rent a Mazda or Shehzore (with labor)
- Cheaper. You’ll need 2–3 loaders.
- Ideal if you’re okay managing the packing.
- Option C: DIY Move (if you have friends/family helping)
- Rent a pickup or two.
- Manage labor and loading yourself.
✅ Step 3: Packing Tips
- Furniture: Wrap with blankets or bubble wrap. Label fragile sides.
- Electronics: Use original boxes (if you have), otherwise wrap in towels/blankets.
- Clothes & shoes: Use suitcases, plastic bags, or cartons.
- Books: Don’t overload one box — spread them out.
- Cutlery & kitchen items: Wrap in newspaper, use plastic bins or boxes.
- Laptops/mobiles: Keep with you.
- Cylinder: Must be transported safely. Make sure it’s turned off and upright.
- Bike: Either ride it or load it on the transport vehicle carefully.
✅ Step 4: What to Carry Yourself
Things you should keep personally:
- Important documents
- Electronics (laptops, phones)
- Jewelry or valuables
- One bag with clothes & essentials for 1–2 days
✅ Step 5: At the New Place
- Place furniture first.
- Then bring in boxes room by room.
- Set up your bed and kitchen first, rest can be gradual.
